clay

Isaiah 64:8, “Yet Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we all are the work of Your hands.”

Hypocritical, jagged edges could cut anyone that comes too close. Selfish, always thinking of how you’ve affected me I’d like to think more of how I’ve affected you, still greedy. Ugly, my spirit covered in soil, salvation has wiped me clean. God works overtime to remove weeds but He won’t abolish what I don’t give Him; I’m dancing with a lot. Needy, I crave the wrong attention but leave the needed attention on the shelf.

God knows all my dirty, matter fact He made me out of clay so a little dirt is baked in. Yet even with cracked outsides the treasure on the inside grows vibrant in every way. The Potter created me from nothing, from dust lower than vapor, yet He put His most prized possession in my being. God is the potter, He molds me like clay. Not afraid to get dirty, not afraid to get messy, not afraid to break me so He can form something new. Taking on shapes I never thought possible.

I’m not worthy of having His name on my lips, I’m not deserving enough to look at the sky and think, “God watches over me.” Mm interesting, God never asked the clay to be deserving or worthy, yet He commanded the clay to be moldable. Be teachable that He may trust you with the obedience it takes to create something new. My infatuation with you is a crack, part of my dirt you might actually be baked in. Thankfully the Potter can break me to remove the debris, I’ll be stronger after surgery.

Written in the depths of my hurt, this clay jar will always be under construction. As life moves I’m constantly picking up things I shouldn’t be, inevitable clay attracts other dust particles. Though salvation is like wax around my spirit she is clean, yet the mind can still become tainted if not close to the Potter. Divine help doesn’t take away the human experience and consequences that tap at my heart every single day. Encouragingly, clay is always in the potter’s hand. Have you ever watched a potter shifting the clay, constant connection to the creator, crafting every bend and brook the potter never takes his hand off the masterpiece completely being kept.

Yet completion is only possible through the fire, kilns bake the clay until fortified meaning my outer shell has been made tough for the road ahead. The Potter, my Father has walked me through the fire that I may come out with tougher skin, dust can’t easily creep in anymore. Walking even closer to Him, I have to stay in His possession as my hard skin has made it easier for me to break if dropped. Rather He’ll not drop me, yet I could drop myself if I believe for one second I didn’t need Him.

With every new step with every new blessing it’s even more imperative that I constantly stay in the Potter’s hands because what is being carried as a new creation is more valuable than when I didn’t know Him. I’m carrying purpose and service that others I’ve never met are banking on coming to pass. My clay jar holds responsibility past just my being alive and existing.

*Accepting God into your heart* If you’d like to accept God and the gift of salvation, with all your heart and soul believe Jesus died on the cross, rising on the third day completing the gift of salvation conquering death. Believing that He is the Son of God, surrender with open arms, repent and apologize for the sinful ways turning from the flesh, confessing that God is the redeemer of your spirit. You will be saved. Now begin your walk with God as He loves you and will absolutely NEVER leave your side.

Salvation has made it to where we can have constant contact with God the Source of all Life. Granting you His Holy Spirit that is a personal helper through life, He will and can and is changing everything in your life. He is so excited to do a good work in you that not only frees your spirit but also grants love and purpose that fills worldly voids, impacting every realm of life. Seek Him first in everything.

Remember, God doesn’t give love that needs to be earned rather His love is free of charge powered by the eternal love He wants to share and the belief in our hearts. He loves you enabling you to love Him back. Do not stress about never sinning but strive to sin less through knowing God for yourself through prayer and reading of His Word. Progression over perfection.
