bow down

Speaking the truth is hard. Especially when truth goes against what the world chooses to believe. These are not my words but the words of God, He has written them on my heart and mind that I may out pour them. Humbly I share these words because without God I would have nothing and be nothing. I believe every single word in the bible. There are things in the bible that are difficult to swallow because looking through western eyes can hinder the true reality of God’s word. His words is living and effective. Harsh truths cut deeper than the meeting of the soul and spirit, bone and marrow, His word is a double edged sword, separating even the closest of things. No man is hidden under the eyes of God, all lay naked before Him, Hebrews 4:12.

I understand it can be difficult to truly believe in all things scripture says yet we do a disservice to all involved when His word is ignored. I choose to look at the word through the eyes of God. For a long time I only focused on God’s unconditional love yet I was choosing to overlook the ways He’s called His children to behave. I was not ready to live the way God wanted me to and in turn I was giving the wrong impression of what God deems as right. Over the years, getting closer to God I realize I can not pick and choose scripture.

I can’t pick and choose the sins I’m going to act on and hold to a high standard. God isn’t picking and choosing. We live in a gray world. Everything is mixed in and it’s really difficult to see what is good and what is not. Yet I believe with the word of God, His people are better equipped to navigate what He sees as good and evil. The heart of man is always be known to God. No intention is kept hidden. He sees all and knows all. “Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches out the thoughts and intentions of every person. And I will give each of you whatever you deserve” Revelations 2:23. To say God does not care or does not see our intentions and sins is a dangerous deception both those that follow and do not follow God have fallen into, Ezekiel 8:12.

It’s really easy to look at certain sins and think of them as “not as bad” while others are considered “horrific.” Yet shouldn’t all things evil be considered as such across the board? It took a long time for me to see my sins as evil because they didn’t outwardly hurt another human being nor did they kill, rape or torture anyone. Yet God brought to my attention that though evil may have varying degrees doesn’t make it any less evil. Evil desires are what God calls them. God has allowed me to give great effort in living and speaking the truth. Every sin He believes in I also believe in, whether it be murder, stealing, idolatry, complaining, homosexuality, adultery, arrogance, pride, and every other kind of evil rebellion. I believe that God does not condone those things.

Jesus died on the cross for every and all person because we were evil completely void of God. Yet when we accept the invitation of Jesus’ blood, we also accept the change God will do in our hearts through knowing Him. We also agree to accept the scripture to its fullest extent. We can only turn away from things with God, if we choose to turn away. This is not a plea nor is it condemnation but simply a suggestion to take a closer look at what God says is true and what people say is true. The two are different. I had to learn the difference is knowing God truly or knowing the God of my perception. The first is life giving while the other is life shattering. Question is, who are you bowing down to ?
