God has always sat on my chest with a heaviness but lately as I dig deeper into His word the heaviness has brought peace of mind and a sense of devotion to the cause. His cause specifically can not and will not be abandoned. There are times in my life when circumstances and situations get the best of me and I find myself looking at the issues rather than God. I constantly remind myself of the goodness of God.
God had just removed the Israelites from Egypt, complaining about the new way of life and the uncertainty. They were not pleased with the lack of food. God rained down manna which is a very sweet fluffy kind of cookie shaped cake. Can you imagine that kind of goodness raining down from heaven? They were only allowed to take enough for the day.
When the Israelites became tired of manna, God rained down quail. He always provided exactly what they needed for the day. Hebrews 13:5-6 says, “Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
Finances stress me out so bad! I become a mathematician trying to stretch a penny into a dollar. God brings to my soul He has provided everything I need for this day. Nothing more, nothing less. I rest well knowing He sees exactly what I think I lack. Nothing is lacking with God, I have everything I need. Knowing that God cares more for me than the birds and they lack nothing.
I’ve never heard of wild animals going hungry, no one cares for them yet they eat every night, and sleep safely. I am worth more to God, Matthew 6:26 promises so. Be encouraged that God is always present, never alone, never forsaken.
