proverbs 147:3-5

Proverbs 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Everyday I feel God binding up my wounds. Sealing my insides, invisible to the world hidden for intimacy with God. It’s crazy how one day I looked up and I no longer felt as hurt as I once did. No longer feel the pain radiating. When I look back, it seems far behind me. I like knowing the pain is distant and so is he. God did it! He did what I couldn’t do, moved time to work in my favor. I love that word bind because whatever God puts together no person can tear apart. Binding sounds heavenly in nature like it’s attached to the breath of God. He reached down and breathed life into my lungs. He kneeled down and gave me His shoulder for rest and renewal.

I believe God healed more than my broken heart but He also heals any collateral damage too. When God heals you are better than what you were before, a new creation has emerged. Proverbs 147:4 “He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.” He knows the name of every scar, sin, creature, galaxy, macrobiotic being…He has called everything by name into existence. I know that my sins and scars are not foreign to God. In prayer I call each one by name, uncovering anything, exposing all shame. Shame is simply not wanting to be known or seen by God because of imperfections, it is fear driven. Just as He created and calls every star by name so He calls us, His children by name. He reaches high and stoops low, nothing out of reach, nothing unknown.

Not only has He called me by name, yet He actively operates in my life with unbreakable love. Proverbs 147:5 “Great is our Lord and mighty in power, His understanding has no limit.” I constantly remind myself that God created every detail of the universe, galaxy and beyond. He designed the body, animals, every living creature down to the sand. There are animals we have no clue exist to this day, the vastness of God is placed in His creation. His understanding is limitless, meaning when I ask for understanding the well is bottomless. I believe that His power feeds His understanding. We as humans live a very boundary focused life, everything and everyone must have boundaries in order to function properly. Could you imagine having so much power yet self control that boundaries are based on your teachings? That’s God.

No part of Him has a limit nor needs to be controlled by something or someone outside of Himself. I come to the God of unlimited power and understanding because I trust every single thought, thing, and material flowing from Him. I give Him my life because I need His control to function. I love that word power. God doesn’t abuse His strength or use it for selfish gain. Yet He is intentional, careful and thoughtful. Deliberate and loving, instead of cutting mankind off He devised a plan where Jesus was the sacrificial lamb. And no, the flood was not God cutting off man that was Him cleansing the earth of wicked people. God despises wickedness, in that same breath wicked people will breed corruption no matter the cost and spread pain to everyone. Making a tough decision, He simply kept His children. As He will do again upon Jesus’ return. Pure, clean…He took on our dirt and sin, to be separated from God His Father. Almighty power dying, being dead for three days. Rising on the third day signifies that He went to hell, defeated death and gained the keys to hell then came back up. He is the ultimate love, His love is power.
